Ubuhle OCS Cleaning (Pty) Limited is based in Durban, specialises in the
provision of a high quality office, window and carpet cleaning service
throughout Kwazulu/Natal.
Expansion is based on the organic growth of these ore services, coupled
with the introduction of other property related activities such as pest
control and hygiene services at the appropriate time. Geographic expansion
is currently dictated by market opportunities.
The full range of services is offered to amongst others, single and
multiple office blocks, factories, industrial units, public amenity buildings,
sporting venues and both national and international transport locations.
Training and Development:
With our policy of internal promotion and training, we aim to give each employee
the opportunity to develop their career. Opportunities are available to all
employees irrespective of nationality, colour, race, gender or ethnic origin.
Our approach to training can be summed up as follows:-
 All employees on joining OCS require in-depth induction and initial job
training identifying the philosophy and making them feel a part of a professional
team from the very onset of their career. Any training needs have to be
identified quickly and a training package formulated, planned and the results
documented. We will constantly update and evaluate the effectiveness of
their training; this can only be achieved by post training evaluation on
site in the employees’ place of work. Our employees need to be encouraged
to develop and expand their field of knowledge, their skills and abilities.
Our Managers will be supported in the development of their training skills
to ensure that the training that they give is of the highest possible standard.
Ubuhle OCS Training and Staff Competency:
Ubuhle OCS Cleaning Services participates fully in the National Skills Development
Initiative and has been applauded by the Services SETA for its active role;
Ubuhle OCS was one of the first Companies in Natal to participate in the
first historic pilot project for the National Certificate in Commercial Cleaning.
 Professional staff – we take this seriously, ask to view a copy
of our training manual for our cleaning staff and our assessment of competency
tools, and you will see what we mean.
Supervisors go through intensive training at Siyaya Hygiene and Cleaning
Skills Institute – our accredited Providers. All our Supervisors
are exposed to advanced Cleaning Science including infection control and
the micro-biological aspects of cleaning. Ongoing seminars are conducted
to ensure skills and knowledge is current - C.P.D. (Continuous Professional
Development).
 All our managers and some senior Supervisors have been Qualified as Assessors
for our Industry.
Cleaning staff go through the following development program – understanding
micro-biological principles in cleaning
- Understanding surfaces and soiling
- The use of chemicals in cleaning
- Toilet and restroom cleaning
- Above the floor cleaning in offices and commercial environments
- Wet mopping
- Operating an industrial buffing, burnishing and scrubbing machine
- Dry vacuuming and customer service/relationships.
They have to pass both the knowledge assessment and practical assessment
to achieve competency. These are performed by our qualified Assessors.
Assessments are moderated by Siyaya
Skills Institute.
 Results of all assessment are sent to SETA for verification and registration
of credits on the National Qualifications Framework.
Right now, Ubuhle OCS has more than 100 Cleaning staff on Learnerships
leading to the National Certificate in Commercial Cleaning NQF 1.
We will also be among the first to participate in the first supervisory
qualification for the industry to be launched in February 2005.
Due to our International ties Ubuhle OCS Cleaning benefits from utilising
the latest cleaning technologies available on the market. There is a wide
range of advanced cleaning equipment available on the International market
that becomes available to us via  our British counterparts. With this in
mind Ubuhle OCS Cleaning is able to take on any type of cleaning service
that may be required. In keeping with International standards Ubuhle OCS
Cleaning endeavors to utilise more advanced cleaning technologies and mechanisation
where possible to supply an above average end result.
